Looking west down busy Hollywood Blvd at dusk, Los Angeles, 1951I love this photo I just found from Life magazine showing us the view looking west down a busy Hollywood Boulevard at dusk in 1951. We can see it was still a vibrant thoroughfare with the Hotel Drake, Barker Bros furniture store, Egyptian Theater, a bowling alley at the Cinema Sports Center, JC Penney, and the Kress five-and-dime department store, as well as dozens of other stores whose neon signs light up the evening sky.
