Fox Wilshire Theater on Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, 1931

Fox Wilshire Theater on Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, 1931The beautifully restored art deco theater on Wilshire Blvd that we know today as the Saban, was once called the Fox Wilshire Theater. This photo is from 1931 when the Marx Bros. movie Monkey Business was playing. I thought Beauty Secrets from Hollywood may have been a live presentation for the ladies, perhaps from Max Factor or the Westmore brothers, but it was a short. Both of these films were from Paramount, which is odd as this theater was one of 20th Century Fox’s premiere theaters. Maybe they had a hole in their schedule.
