Corner Hollywood and Vine, circa 1947 with 1946-47 Cadillac coupe on the leftIn this photo we’re on Vine Street looking north toward the Hollywood and Vine corner. That sleek black car on the left is a 1946-’47 Cadillac coupe. It looks fairly new so I’m guessing this photo was taken circa 1947. We can also see the Melody Lane restaurant, which occupied the northwest corner from 1940 to 1955. And next to it is Brooks, which was a nice clothing store with outlets on Broadway and Wilshire as well as this one at 6666 Hollywood Boulevard.
