It’s the “Light on Parade” festivities celebrating the 1936 arrival of electrical power generated by Hoover Dam. More than one million people descended upon downtown to partake in a parade that stretched from City Hall to Olympic Boulevard. That night, Broadway was nicknamed “The Canyon of Lights” and we can see why!
