Tom Breneman's restaurant, Vine St, Hollywood, 1948My novel – Twisted Boulevard – opens in February 1948, so how funny / coincidental / synchronistic that this morning I should come across this northward-looking view of Vine Street, Hollywood from 1948. Tom Breneman was the popular host of a morning radio show, “Breakfast in Hollywood” who died unexpectedly in April of 1948, so this shot was probably taken early that year, around about the same time as the events in “Twisted Boulevard” kick off.
