Crowds line up for “Captains Courageous” Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Hollywood, July 17, 1937I wouldn’t have thought “Captains Courageous” would have been the type of movie to generate lines around the block at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, but goes to show what I know! Then again, the cast did feature Spencer Tracy, Freddie Bartholomew, Lionel Barrymore, Melvyn Douglas, and Mickey Rooney, and Tracy won an Oscar for his role. Or maybe these people were clamoring to see the second feature: “The Great Hospital Mystery.” (July 17, 1937)
