Looking east on Wilshire Blvd across Normandie Ave, Los Angeles, 1947

Looking east on Wilshire Blvd across Normandie Ave, Los Angeles, 1947In this photo, we’re looking east on Wilshire Blvd from Normandie Ave in 1947. We can see that back in the 40s, there were still homes on Wilshire Blvd. They’re no longer there, of course, as is much of what we can see here. The church on the left is still around as is the Gaylord Apartment building farther down Wilshire. In between those two, we can see the dome of the original Brown Derby restaurant, which I wish was still around!
