In this shot, I almost feel like we’re part of the crowd gathered across Hollywood Boulevard from the Pantages Theatre as Universal Pictures hold a whiz-bang premiere for “Show Boat” in 1936. Notice how the marquee claims it is “The Greatest Picture Ever Made” – I’m thinking someone from the P.R. department came up with that bright idea.
