Sunset Boulevard in 1925, as seen from the Warner Brothers studios (the row of columns on the left hand side) at the corner of Van Ness Ave. This where “The Jazz Singer” was filmed approximately a year after this photo was taken. The studio is now KTLA and the building with the columns is still there and maintained in very good condition. On the right hand side, you can see the Hotel Iris. This is the place where Judy Garland (still Frances Gumm) and her family stayed on vacation in 1926 during which Judy made her first performance in Los Angeles at the Earlanger’s Mason Theater.
