The Westmore brothers ran most of the makeup departments of the Hollywood studios during the golden era. They made the most of their name by opening a salon at 6638 Sunset Boulevard. I’ve posted photos before of the exterior of the House of Westmore but harder to find is the interior. This is the lobby – very classy, isn’t it?

My aunt Freda worked for the House of Westmore she was a stylist.
She had a beautiful house in the Hollywood Hills.
Her clients were many famous movie stars.
She was also beautiful.

My grandparents are Perc and Ola Westmore. I spent many summers at the House of Westmore. Had the run of the place really. There was a laboratory on the second floor where the Westmore products were created.
I was the perfect fantasy come to life.
