In 1919 Charlie Chaplin built his own studios on La Brea Ave in a British cottage style. It’s where he shot all his classic films until he moved to Switzerland in 1952. After Chaplin departed, CBS filmed several well-known TV shows there, including “The Adventures of Superman” and “Perry Mason.” Then it became the headquarters of A&M Records. Now it is owned by Jim Henson Productions, who produce the Muppets and who have added a statue of Kermit, dressed like Chaplin’s “Little Tramp” standing above the main studio gate. Cute!
