Hollywood Hotel and Red Car Streetcar on Highland Ave

Hollywood Hotel and Red Car Streetcar on Highland AveHollywood Hotel at the corner of Hollywood and Highland (now a shopping mall). The church to the right is still there—the Hollywood United Methodist Church and was a location used in “Back To The Future”, “Sister Act”, and has been used by the Rockettes as a rehearsal space for their Christmas show. But what I really like about this photo is the red car streetcar. They really were RED!

Love the contrasting lighting in this pic – from deep shadows to the stark white of the hotel.

Not in color, but how about this simple but beautiful shot of the hotel and a passing red car. All aboard for the Golden Age of Hollywood!

    Love the palm trees.

    Thanks, Martin.
