Malamute Saloon at the end of Prohibition, 1933
13 years of Prohibition came to an end on December 5, 1933, and apparently the first place in LA where you could get a newly-legal drink was the Malamute Saloon (and cafe, although nobody was buying any cappuccinos that day, I’m sure.)

    “Wide open,” tables for ladies, no cover charge, open from 5:00 pm to 3:00 am – and I’m assuming even a separate entrance for the ladies.
