Prohibition billboard

Prohibition billboard
What I love about this photo is that it has four things in it which are no longer around:
(1) a billboard for Prohibition (who knew they even had billboards for Prohibition?! It wasn’t like anyone needed to advertise it)
(2) the Examiner newspaper (A Heart publication, home to Louella Parsons)
(3) streetcars
(4) the Women’s Christian Temperance Union (which was formed in 1874 to spearhead the crusade for Prohibition. I just checked and they *are* still around although I assume their mission is somewhat changed now. You know, seeing as how Prohibition has been over since 1933…)
