The Tamale restaurant located at 6421 Whittier Boulevard East L.A., 1930. A tamale restaurant shaped like a tamale? Now, why didn’t I think of that? The sign over the windows also offers “Spanish delight.” Ummm…weren’t tamales invented in Mexico…?

    Wonder how long some of these novelty places stayed in business?

    Here’s another view – the supper crowd must be on its way for those hot tamale pies as the waitress is nowhere in sight.
