Movie fans crowd the sidewalk of Broadway outside the Orpheum Theater for the 1931 premiere of RKO’s “Cimarron” (based on the book by Edna Ferber who also wrote “Giant” and “Showboat.”) The Orpheum is one of the few Broadway theaters lucky enough to get a complete refurbishment and is now a popular and busy downtown theater.
