 Ken Murray's Blackouts at the El Capitan Theater on Vine Street, on June 24, 1942,Ken Murray’s Blackouts on June 24, 1942, at the El Capitan Theater on Vine Street and went on to become the longest running variety revue in the history of American theater playing for nine years. (During World War II, Ken was one of the many celebrities to volunteer at the Hollywood Canteen, and he later was the original host (1945–57) on the TV show, “Queen for a Day.”)
