A night shot of the entrance to Ciro’s when it opened in 1940 in the heart of the Sunset Strip. It didn’t take long for the classy place to become one of the most popular and star-studded clubs in Los Angeles and another success for owner Billy Wilkerson, who also ran the Hollywood Reporter. The building is still there and is now the Comedy Store.
