This photo is of the city produce market in 1900. It stood at the intersection of Central Ave. and 3rd Street, a few blocks south of where Union Station now stands. Looking at a photo like this makes me ponder if the good old days were really that great. Just the thought of the stink of horse poop alone makes me I’m glad I didn’t have to go shopping for my fruit and veggies like that. I’ll stick to Ralph’s, thanks all the same.
