City produce market at Central Ave. and 3rd St, downtown Los Angeles, 1900This photo is of the city produce market in 1900. It stood at the intersection of Central Ave. and 3rd Street, a few blocks south of where Union Station now stands. Looking at a photo like this makes me ponder if the good old days were really that great. Just the thought of the stink of horse poop alone makes me I’m glad I didn’t have to go shopping for my fruit and veggies like that. I’ll stick to Ralph’s, thanks all the same.
