Scrivners Drive-in at the corner of Cahuenga and Ivar, Hollywood

Scrivners Drive-in at the corner of Sunset and Cahuenga, Hollywood a block or two down from where Amoeba Music now stands on Sunset. This place feels very “Happy Days”, doesn’t it? In fact during the summer of 1956, DJ Art Laboe hosted live afternoon broadcasts from Scrivner’s where he’d pass out a list of songs and let the kids pick the music from the top twenty. Far out!

Use the main menu and go to the left side for lots of b/w images.

I used to go to Scrivners in Hollywood. I am pretty sure it was on sunset and Cahuenga…not the smaller side-street, Ivar.
