Hollywood Boulevard near the corner of Vine Street which was dominated by the Broadway Hollywood department store. Note the Schwab’s pharmacy. This isn’t the famous one – that was on Sunset Boulevard, near Laurel Canyon, around the corner from the Garden of Allah. That particular Schwab’s got all the attention but it was only one of a mini-chain of about half a dozen pharmacies scattered through-out Los Angeles.     Wonderful film noir setting!

    Judging by (what appears to be) a lone woman walking on the far right, it was considered safe to still be out after dark in the Golden Age of Hollywood!
