As part of my research for my novels set at the Garden of Allah hotel, I’ve been reading and writing about Alla Nazimova (the Garden’s original owner out of which the hotel emerged) for a number of years. Just when I think I’ve seen all the photos of her, along comes another one. Looks like Madame (which is how she preferred to be addressed) was going through a gorgeously slim phase when this photo was taken.
