Moulin Rouge nightclub on Sunset Boulevard In 1953 the Moulin Rouge opened on Sunset Boulevard in what used to be Earl Carroll’s and which was, at the time, the biggest nightclub, restaurant and showroom in America. At the time this shot was taken, it was where the very popular TV show “Queen for a Day” was filmed.

    My mother loved that show and Jack Bailey. It was a nice show and I loved the neon lighting it had. So sad that is all gone.
