The sculptures at the entrance to the Hollywood Bowl was designed by sculptor George Stanley who also made the original Oscar statuette (based on a design by MGM art director Cedric Gibbons.) I’ve always felt that part of the Hollywood Bowl experience is walking past these timelessly classic sculptures.
I can’t figure out if this is an advertisement for the Hollywood Bowl or a new car with the way that ’40s dame is enticingly flashing those shapely gams. Whichever it is, it’s sure pure ’40s Hollywood. Looks like a storm’s a-brewing adding to this atmospheric shot.

Thanks, Martin, for posting this.
