The Zebra Room was at the Town House Hotel which opened in 1929 on Wilshire Blvd. The building was once among the most luxurious hotels in Southern California, and its Zebra Room was its well-known restaurant. Clearly, the designers of the Zebra Room took their motif seriously—even the coffee mugs have zebra stripes.
There was also a Cape Cod Room next door (although I suspect this wasn’t permanent, but a temporary display, perhaps for the benefit of the crowd outside.
The Zebra Room was a nightclub, not a restaurant. The Cape Cod Room was the hotel’s coffee shop and lasted until 1993. The hotel’s main restaurant was the Garden Room.

Thank you so much for clarifying that, Bruce. None of the references I found made the distinction. Much appreciated.
