Angelenos must have been happy to see the opening of the 2^nd Street tunnel (July 25^th, 1924) because they threw a parade. However, the thing that caught my eye was the billboard at the top advertising “EAT CARNATION MUSH.” Who the hell packages a food product and calls it “mush”??? I had to Google that one! Turns out, it was a type of whole wheat breakfast cereal. Seriously, could they have picked a worse name?
