Fifth Street, downtown L.A., circa 1925. This is one of the lucky few buildings from the heyday of the 1920s which is still standing. It was under threat of demolition in the 1980s which led to the formation of the L.A. Conservancy who now leads the fight to save historically important buildings throughout Los Angeles.
