General George S. Patton gets a parade, downtown Los Angeles, 1945In 1945, General George S. Patton visited Los Angeles and the grateful locals gave him a parade on June 9th. Six months later, the WWII hero would be dead from injuries sustained an unfortunate motor accident in Germany.

    Headlines…”Local boy does good!”. Patton was from South Pasadena and played football in the area.
