This is the third Brown Derby to open. It stood on the corner of Wilshire Blvd and Rodeo Drive. And opened in 1931. It was more popular with the Beverly Hills crowd so it was busiest on Thursday nights which was the traditional “maid’s night off” (because God forbid they should cook their own dinner once a week…) According to Vanity Fair, March 2009, in1958 Christmas dinner at the Beverly Hills Brown Derby was $3.85, or $30 in current dollars, which sounds like damn good value, if you ask me.
