Menu cover for Chi-Chi resturant at 6315 Hollywood Blvd (in the old Sardi’s space), circa 1940s

LAChiChiMenuThis is the front cover of a restaurant called Chi-Chi which was in the old Sardi’s building at 6315 Hollywood Boulevard in from what I can tell, the mid-1940s. It looks like it was one of six locations. Considering it was the 1940s, I’d have thought that the picture of a bare-breasted woman on the cover of the menu would have been rather risqué. Or was it okay because she’s “a native”?
