The Fox Ritz theater, which stood at 5214 Wilshire Blvd (near La Brea) in 1932 when it was playing Greta Garbo’s “As You Desire Me”, supported by a 19-minute Bing Crosby short, “Dream House” and a Mickey Mouse cartoon. That’s a hell of a mixed bag!
Built as the Ritz Theatre in 1926, it joined the Fox theater chain soon thereafter. The theater building was on the south side of Wilshire and occupied the block between La Brea and Sycamore; this photograph features the Sycamore corner:
