The Fred Thomson building – aka the “Court of Olive” – 6530 Sunset Boulevard, circa late 1920s

The Fred Thompson building, 6530 Sunset Boulevard, in 1928The Fred Thomson building – aka the “Court of Olive” (as it was called in 1929) – at 6530 Sunset Boulevard a few blocks east of Hollywood High school. It was was built by silent western star Fred Thomson and his wife, Frances Marion, around 1928 (the year Thomson died). This is before the Cat and the Fiddle and Travis Banton’s dress shop (http://bit.ly/1aXho1c) were situated there. I’m so glad that this building still there (well, mostly) probably because it closely resembles both in architecture and feel the Garden of Allah. It also reminds me of the Vine Street Brown Derby.
