If you came to Los Angeles in the mid 1880s and took a room at the Belmont Hotel on the corner of 2^nd Street and Belmont, this would have been the view from your window. It’s hard to believe that the 10-million-person-sprawl that’s there now could ever have looked like this. At least finding a place to park wouldn’t have been a problem.
