Entrance to Universal Studios from Carl Laemmle Boulevard, circa 1910s

Entrance to Universal Studios from Carl Laemmle Boulevard, circa 1910sThe entrance to Universal Studios doesn’t look anything like it did back in the 1910s when this photograph was taken, which is a shame—it looks fairly easy to sneak in and watch your favorite movie star at work!

  1. Al Donnelly says:

Lankershim Boulevard in the valley was originally San Fernando Avenue. (Postally speaking, Toluca became Lankershim which became North Hollywood.) At what point was Laemmle Boulevard renamed as part of the extended Lankershim Boulevard? Was any of the roadway rerouted to reach the Cahuenga/Ventura west end junction?
