Howard Hughes' "Spruce Goose" wings moved from Culver City to Long Beach, June 11th, 1946June 11, 1946: Police escort and movers pause under the wing of the Hughes Hercules—we all know it as the “Spruce Goose”. The wings were being moved from Culver City to Long Beach even though Howard Hughes would do his test flight until November 2nd, 1947. I guess it took a hell of a long time to put all the pieces together.
