This photo was taken at the corner of Hollywood and Vine on October 15^th, 1956 marking the completion of the first step of the “Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street Million Dollar Glamorization Program.” I count find no further information on the program—what it did or if it was successful—but it must have been a bit of a big deal because the ceremonies concluded two days later the premiere of “Giant” at Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
