Marking the completion of the first step of the “Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street Million Dollar Glamorization Program, 1956This photo was taken at the corner of Hollywood and Vine on October 15th, 1956 marking the completion of the first step of the “Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street Million Dollar Glamorization Program.” I count find no further information on the program—what it did or if it was successful—but it must have been a bit of a big deal because the ceremonies concluded two days later the premiere of “Giant” at Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
