Grauman's Egyptian Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, 1924This 1924 photo shows Grauman’s Egyptian Theater on Hollywood Boulevard, two years after it opened. The Egyptian looks more open back then than it does now, and you can see the array of Egyptian-y artifacts decorating the forecourt. But what’s going on in the foreground? Are they putting in streetcar tracks? I’m almost positive the streetcar was put in way before 1924, so maybe they were already doing an upgrade by 1924…?
