Corner of Wilshire and Western, with Wiltern Theater, circa early 1930s

Corner of Wilshire and Western, with Wiltern Theater, circa early 1930sAnother great shot of the corner of Wilshire Blvd and Western Ave looking east along Wilshire toward Bullocks Wilshire and farther on, downtown L.A. The tower on the right is the art deco gem, the Pellisrier Building, home to the wonderful Wiltern Theater. It was completed in 1931, so I’m guessing this photo was probably taken with a year or two of the Wiltern opening.

Boy, this is yet another fabulous Golden Age of LA shot I just want to insert myself into!

It has all the things I look for in 1930s images with the exception of Harlow, but who knows, she might be in one of those cars! Or shopping inside Bullocks. Maybe I was the one waiting on her haha

    Great post as usual, Martin.
