One of my favorite buildings in Los Angeles is Union Station, the railway station built in 1939 (it just celebrated its 75^th anniversary) at the height of transcontinental rail travel. (After WWII, the preferred mode would switch more and more to air travel.) What I appreciate the most about Union Station is that it still looks the same then as it does now. This picture was taken on December 12^th, 1939, but could have been taken last week.
