A delightful shot showing how lush and inviting Pershing Square in the center of downtown Los Angeles back in the 1930s. This shot was taken in 1935. In the early 1950s, a multi-level parking structure was built underneath Pershing Square. It probably made sense at the time, but all the vegetation had to be pulled out leaving us with, well, precious little.
