Color shots of downtown L.A. in the 1940s aren’t unheard of, but they’re rare enough for me to grab whenever I see one. In the new Garden of Allah book I’m working on (Searchlights and Shadows is set during WWII) there is a scene where some of the characters go to the Greyhound bus depot (at the corner of Los Angeles Street and 6th ) and the view would have been something like this.
