This photo was taken in 1939, the year it opened, and somehow it managed to stick around before it was demolished sometime before 1970. With an exterior like that, you’d think they only showed westerns, but the double bill that day was “Three Smart Girls Grow Up” with Deanna Durbin, and “The Streets of New York” starring Jackie Cooper.
I used to go to The Tumbleweed as a child in the 50s. I have such fond memories.
