Driving east along Wilshire Blvd at the corner of Ardmore Ave, 1929If this were 1929, and you were driving eastward along Wilshire Blvd toward downtown, and passed through the intersection of Ardmore Ave, this would be your view. The Ambassador Hotel would be coming up on your right in a few blocks, and on the left the original Brown Derby. Pretty soon (because clearly there’s no traffic) you’d be passing Bullocks Wilshire department store and then you’d find yourself driving through Westlake Park (because you wouldn’t know it as MacArthur park until 1942.)
