This is one of my favorite apartment blocks in Los Angeles. If I wasn’t writing about life at the Garden of Allah, it might have set my stories here. This is the Villa Carlotta, a 50-unit apartment house at 5959 Franklin Avenue, Hollywood. It was built in 1926 for the widow of Thomas H. Ince According to Wikipedia (i.e. don’t take this as gospel) the building’s notable tenants include Edward G. Robinson, actress Marion Davies, David O. Selznick, and Louella Parsons.
