Gilmore Field baseball park, home to the Hollywood Stars, 1939 to 1957.Gilmore Field was a baseball park that served as home to the Hollywood Stars from 1939 to 1957. The stadium had a seating capacity of 12,987 people, and stood at the corner of Beverly Boulevard and Genesee Ave. That part of Los Angeles was a hive of activity back then. Not only was there the Gilmore Field, but also the Gilmore Stadium (with seating for 18,000 and used for football games and midget auto racing, CBS Television City now occupies that land) and the Gilmore Drive-in, as well as the Pan Pacific Auditorium and Farmer’s Market. Parking must have been murder! Oh yeah, that’s right – there was a lot more public transportation back then . . .

I was wondering if you have a picture of Spector’s Deli that was across the street from the Pan Pacific Auditorium.
