This is the cover of the 1930 Hollywood Shopping Guide. Those dates were a weekend, so it looks like they were having a promotion to attract more shoppers to the boulevard. I wonder if it was successful – probably wildly more so back then than if they tried the same thing today. Hollywood Boulevard is a lot of things these days, but “style center of the world” ain’t one of them.
