This particularly vibrant color photo is of Vine St. looking north toward the Hollywood Blvd corner. It was taken in 1954, so the restaurant on the northwest corner would still have been the Melody Lane—it didn’t change to Hody’s until the following year. I kind of wish the photographer was standing on the other side of Vine St. when he took this picture—we may have been able to see the Brown Derby.
