Hard to believe, but this is what L.A. International Airport used to looked like: one building, two cars and the Goodyear blimp. This photo is dated February 1930, and back then, the airport (if you can call it that) was known as Mines Field. I can barely imagine what the people standing in that blimp would think if they could see it now.
Might be the airship “Volunteer” which turns up in other images in this era. And the blimp field was over on the west side back then.
