You’d think that after nine years of researching and writing about the Garden of Allah Hotel, I’d have come across every photo there is out there of the place. But no! I came across this one recently, and I think it captures the atmosphere of the place nicely. A quiet romantic hideaway—at least by day. Then the sun goes down and the cocktail shakers get brought out, and it’s a whole different kinda joint!
Martin, part of the enjoyment for me of these wonderful pics are your observations/comments. Yep, I’ll bet once the sky turns starry, it’s bust out those shakers and don’t be stingy, baby haha!
This beautiful white with (red?) tile roof garden-setting bungalow is quintessential Golden Age Hollywood to me. All that’s missing are the palm trees, vintage cars and all my beloved favorite stars from yesteryear!

Thank you for this gem.
