This aerial shot of Disneyland was taken in 1956, the year after it opened. These days Anaheim is urban development as far as the eye can see, so it can be easy to forget how the area surrounding Disneyland was so wide open back then, filled largely with orchards.
Below is what the same land looked like in 1953 before Disneyland started to be built.
And this is a 1950s booster brochure designed to tempt people to move to Anaheim. Although once Disneyland was built, I’m sure things like this were largely redundant.
